The competition welcomes any organisation that produces an Annual Report, with the exception of Non-listed export companies with export turnover more than USD 50 million who can apply for two special awards without an annual report, from multinational companies to small community groups and small-scale establishments. The awards are presented under 36 categories where Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners are selected under each sector.

Furthermore, a special award has been introduced to recognise the work of companies that mandatorily adopt SLFRS S1 and S2, strengthening the connection between financial and non-financial information.
